Where does the money I donate go to and how does it get distributed?
ICRC
Lebanon Relief Fund:
"The ICRC team in Beirut and its staff in the south put
priority on strengthening the capacity of the Lebanese Red
Cross. In particular to ensure that the Society's ambulance
services remain operational to the widest extent possible."
"The ICRC has since begun concentrating on the movements
of the displaced population and is working in close cooperation
with the LRC to ensure that the necessary food and non-food
stocks are adequately provided. The ICRC is coordinating the
action of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Lebanon.
The ICRC assumes its role of lead agency to coordinate and
consolidate Red Cross/Red Crescent movement response"
"As a matter of conclusion, building up a capacity to
respond in such a context of war is demanding and dangerous.
ICRC is focused on having the best possible impact for the
populations affected."
"Our clear objective in the field is to act in close
partnership with the National Societies on behalf of the population.
ICRC employees, expatriates and local staff, are an efficient
network and we are going to use it."

Mercy
Corps Lebanon Relief Fund :
"Mercy
Corps will begin delivering relief supplies this week to families
displaced by continuing Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
The agency is distributing food packages to some 3,000 of
the most vulnerable people in Kaifoun, a town southeast of
Beirut where at least 14,000 people are taking shelter in
"transit centers" - public schools and other municipal
buildings. Normally a town of 5,000 people, Kaifoun has swelled
to 35,000 to 40,000 people in the last week, town officials
tell Mercy Corps.
We
need your help to assist the elderly, the disabled, children,
and the poorest of the poor affected by the ongoing violence.
In
coming days we plan to distribute additional emergency supplies
to underserved villages and communities in the Shouf region
southeast of Beirut, and work to ensure access to clean water"
